NCC has adopted community development activities with the aim of imbibing amongst cadets selfless service to the community, dignity of labour importance of self help, need to protect the environment and to assist weaker sections of the society in their upliftment. This was envisaged through programmes involving adult-education, tree plantation, blood donation, visit to Old Age Homes, slum clearance, village upliftment and various other social schemes.
Besides spreading awareness, NCC cadets take a pledge not to accept or encourage dowry system.
Anti Leprosy Drive
NCC Cadets have launched anti-leprosy drive throughout the country and are helping various voluntary Governments Organisations.
NCC cadets plant saplings and look after them in conjunction with the concerned State Department. NCC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Govind Ballabh Pant Institue of Ecology and Environment in July, 2006 to promote afforestation, inculcate scientific understanding of environment and environmental problems of the Indian Himalayan Region. This programme is being extended to other parts of the Himalyan Region.
|Old Age Homes|
Old Age Homes in the country are partronised and regularly visited by NCC cadets. To provide a helping of 'care' and bring smiles.
A Total of ten All India Treks are conducted every year i.e. three for girls and seven for boys and a total of 10,000 cadets take part in it.

EARTH MY DUTY CAMPAIGN (AUG 2010)
NCC Gp Guntur participated in 'My Earth My Duty' campaign during the month of Aug 2010. The initiative has been taken by Zee News and DG NCC. It included a pledge Taking ceremony on 18 Aug, in which 600 cadets took a pledge to protect the environment. On 20 Aug, about 100 cadets carried out cleaning of Suryalanka Beach. About 80 cadets took out a rally to create awareness among the local population along the seacoast about 'Seawater Farming'. On 25 Aug NCC cadets of Guntur group will be planting 8500 saplings as part of the Nation's biggest tree plantation drive on the occassion of 'World Environment Day'.

WORLD HARMONY RUN (18 JUL 2010)
'World harmony Run' was conducted by 400 NCC Cadets on 18 Jul 2010 at Duggirala (Guntur Dt) to create among the peaople a sence of harmony among all sections of the society. The event was organised by NCC in partnership with APUNA (Andhra Pradesh United Nations Association). The Harmony Run is being organised all over the world under the agies of UNO (United nations Organisation) to promote World Harmony.
TREE PLANTATION DRIVE (16 JUL 2010)
AP Govt had embarked upon a programme to plant one million trees on a single day, 16 Jul 2010. The event was conducted by the Forest Department. As part of this programme, NCC Guntur Gp has planted a large No of trees in and around Guntur and in Prakasam Districts. 200 cadets alongwith Forest officials of Guntur Range also took out a Foot and Cycle rally to spread awareness among the people of Guntur town to save environment and plant more and more trees. The rally was flagged off by Mr Rayapati Mohan sai Krishna, the Moyor of Guntur Town. Mr Anoop Singh, IFS, the Chief Forest Conservator of Guntur Range as also Col ASN Rao alongwith all officers of Guntur NCC were present on the occassion.
ANTI DRUG ABUSE DAY (26 JUN 2010)
300 SW cadets of 10 (A) Girls Bn conducted a rally in Bapatla Town during their ATC to create awareness among the public against the ill-effects of Drug Abuse. Guntur Gp Cdr, Col ASN Rao flagged off the rally from Bapatla College of Arts and Sciences. Lt Col SPS Cheema, the CO and Lt Col A Raja, the TO were also present. This was followed by a discussion among the cadets on the topic
Cadets of Hindu College, Hindu College of Pharmacy, JKC College and Bhashyam School also conducted rallies on the occassion.
NO TOBACCO DAY (30 May 2010)
World NO TOBACCO DAY was observed by cadets of 23 (A) Bn NCC during their ATC at VRS & YRN College, Chirala by taking out a rally through the streets of Chirala town.
